About us

Plenitude Independence is a Los Angeles–based housing nonprofit committed to empowering individuals and families experiencing homelessness, as well as those transitioning back into the community after incarceration. Since 2017, we have worked across the Greater Los Angeles region to address housing instability through practical, compassionate, and results-driven solutions that prioritize dignity, equity, and long-term independence.

Our mission is to ensure that every person we serve has access to safe, stable housing, essential support services, and clear pathways toward self-sufficiency. We specialize in rapid rehousing and housing navigation, helping individuals move quickly from crisis situations into permanent or transitional housing. By removing barriers such as lack of documentation, limited income, credit challenges, and discrimination, we help people secure housing faster and remain housed longer.

Plenitude Independence places particular emphasis on supporting formerly incarcerated individuals, many of whom face systemic obstacles to housing and employment upon release. We work closely with individuals impacted by the criminal justice system—especially African American communities and migrants, who are disproportionately affected by homelessness and incarceration in Los Angeles. Our programs are designed to reduce recidivism by addressing its root causes: housing instability, lack of economic opportunity, and social isolation.

Beyond housing placement, we provide wraparound support services that include financial literacy education, résumé building and employment readiness, life-skills coaching, and connections to community resources. These services are tailored to each participant’s needs and cultural background, recognizing that sustainable housing requires more than a roof—it requires stability, confidence, and opportunity.

At Plenitude Independence, we lead with empathy, accountability, and community partnership. We collaborate with local agencies, housing providers, employers, and service organizations to expand access to housing and supportive services throughout Los Angeles County. Our goal is not only to help individuals exit homelessness, but to support them as they rebuild their lives, strengthen their families, and fully reintegrate into their communities.

We invite every visitor to see the real impact of our work—measured not just in housing placements, but in restored dignity, renewed hope, and lasting independence. Plenitude Independence exists to ensure that everyone, regardless of background or past circumstance, has a fair chance to thrive.

We believe in the potential of every individual to find stability, independence, and a sense of belonging. Plenitude Independence is committed to empowering individuals to embrace their identity, define their future, and contribute positively to the community.

Our Mission

Our Mission

Plenitude Independence is dedicated to expanding access to safe housing, meaningful support, and strong advocacy for individuals experiencing homelessness and those re-entering society after incarceration. We believe that every person deserves the opportunity to rebuild their life with dignity and stability. Understanding that homelessness and recidivism stem from complex systemic barriers, we focus on addressing the root causes—economic inequality, trauma, lack of resources, and limited opportunities—through a compassionate, person-centered approach.

Our comprehensive programs guide individuals through every step of their transition, from securing stable housing and accessing mental health services to obtaining employment support and community-based resources. We pair direct services with active advocacy for fair housing, equitable opportunities, and criminal justice reform. At Plenitude Independence, our goal is not only to help people overcome immediate crises, but to empower them to build long-term independence and thrive within their communities.
